Our History

Over six decades of community, connection, and Colorado living

The story of Cherry Knolls begins in 1960, when visionary developers saw the potential for a thriving residential community in what was then a peaceful stretch of Colorado landscape. Named for the cherry trees that once dotted the rolling knolls of the area, our neighborhood was designed with families in mind.

From those early days, Cherry Knolls has grown into one of Centennial's most beloved neighborhoods, home to multiple generations of families who have chosen to put down roots in our community.

The Cherry Knolls Name

Our neighborhood's name reflects both the natural beauty and the terrain of our community. The "cherry" refers to the cherry trees that were prevalent in the area during the early development years, while "knolls" describes the gentle rolling hills that characterize our landscape.

Today, while the original cherry orchards are long gone, residents continue to plant cherry trees and other beautiful landscaping that honors our neighborhood's heritage.

Looking Forward

As we look to the future, the Cherry Knolls Improvement Association remains committed to preserving the character and quality of our neighborhood while embracing positive change. We continue to welcome new families, maintain our beautiful common areas, and foster the sense of community that has defined Cherry Knolls for over six decades.
